rated a graffito in 1875, on the occasion of his fourt. 
centennial. It is open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 A. M 
to 3 P. M. and on all other days by applying to the guar 
dian. Over the door is a portrait in bronze of thę grea 
artist, and the following inscription:

FATTA ORNARE DI PITTURE 
ED ARRICCHITA DI MOBILI, DE' DISEGNI E DEGLI SCRITTI 
DEL GRANDE ZIO

IL CAVALIERE COSIMO BUONARROTI 
LASCIO PER TESTAMENTO ALLA CITTA 
CON TUTTO IL SUO MOBILE PREZIOSO

First Floor 
Antichamber.—This room is full of Etruscan, Greek 
and Roman articles, collected mostly by Michelangelo and 
found in his studio in Rome.—From hence we pass to the 
Second Room containing the drawings by Michelangelo 
and some good paintings, viz : 
N. 92. Titian—The Death of the Roman Lucretia. 
N. 95 Cristoforo Allori—Portrait of Michelangelo, wear- 
ing a turban. 
N. 97. Another portrait of Michelangelo Buonarroti, 
thought to have been painted by himself. 
The Third Room is the most sumptuous and interesting; 
here the best painters of the XVth. century painted the 
most remarkable events in the great artist’s life. It mo¬
