d'Agnolo  (1520).  It  was  the  first  work  in  Florence,  with
ornamental  decorations,  square  windows  and  doors  surmounted -
  by  large  cornices.
Capponi  Palace.  (Via  Gino  Capponi  28  H.  4.)
Erected  after  a  design  by  Fontana  (1704).  The  great  saloon -
  was  painted  in  fresco  by  Matteo  Bonechi,  who  also
painted  several  other  rooms.
Corsi  Palace.  (Via  Tornabuoni  20  F.  6).  It  is  a  fine
palace  of  modern  architecture,  (1867)  the  ground  floor  is
occupied  by  very  handsome  shops.  The  design  of  the
small  portico  at  one  end  is  by  Cigoli.
Corsini  Palace.  (Lungarno  Corsini  E.  6).  This
was  built  by  G.  Silvani  (1618-56).  The  staircase  was  constructed -
  by  the  architect  Ferri.
Feroni  Palace.  (Via  Tornabuoni  E.  6).  It  is
thought  that  Arnolfo  di  Cambio  was  the  architect  of  this
palace;  and  in  fact,  after  the  Pretorial  and  the  Signoria
Palace,  it  is  the  most  charateristic  monument  of  that
period.  It  belonged  to  the  Spini  and  afterwards  to  the
Feroni  Family.  In  1874  was  finished  the  restauration  of
this  Palace  restoring  it  to  its  primitive  style.  There  are
some  frescoes  by  Poccetti.
Gondi  Palace.  (Piazza  S.  Firenze  1  E.  6).  The
architecture  is  by  Giuliano  da  S.  Gallo,  and  is  much
esteemed  (1481).  It  was  restored  in  1874.
Guadagni  Palace.  (Piazza  S.  Spirito  11  E.  7).
It  is  thought  to  have  been  designed  by  Cronaca.
Larderel  Palace.  (Via  Tornabuoni  19  E.  6).
The  façade  of  the  palace  which  is  held  in  high  repute
was  designed  by  Dosio  (1558).
Rucellai  Palace.  (Via  della  Vigna  Nuova  20  E.
6).  This  palace  so  full  of  taste  and  harmony  was  designed
by  Leon  Battista  Alberti.
Stiozzi-Ridolfi  Palace.  (Via  della  Scala  89D.
4.)  Was  built  after  a  design  by  L.  B.  Alberti  and  enlarged
by  Silvani.  In  the  garden  annexed,  known  by  the  name  of
