PIAZZA DI S. MARCO. — I advise the stranger to
make the Piazza di S. Marco his starting point for
the first day in preference to the Piazza del Gran
Duca, because in its immediate vicinity are congre-
gated a number of interesting objects, which being
distant from the centre of the town are often apt to
be overlooked, or not seen at all, if left to the last
moment.

demy, open from nine to three. Any person foreigner
or native is admitted to study gratis, on going through
a slight preparatory examination. — Enter by the

yard and turning to your left observe the first tondo
or circular Holy Family by Robbia, the expression
