M Aiores cum ſ apienter, tum etiam
utiliter inſtituerunt per commẽ-
tariorũ relationes, cogitata tra
dere poſteris, uti ea non interi-
rent, ſed ſingulis ætatibus cræ-
ſcentia uoluminibus ædita, gra
datim peruenirent uetuſt atibus
ad ſũmã doctrinarũ ſubtilitatẽ, Itaq́ nõ mediocres,
ſed in finitæ ſunt his agẽdæ gratiæ, ꝙ nõ inuidioſe ſi
lentes prætermiſerunt, Sed omnium generum ſenſus
conſcriptionibus memoriæ tradendos curauerunt. Nãq́ ſi non ita feciſſent, non potuiſſemus ſcire, quæ
res in Troia fuiſſent geſtæ, nec quid Thales, Demo
critus, Anaxagoras, Xenophanes, reliquiq́ phyſici
ſenſiſſent de rerum natur a, quasq́ Socrates, Plato,
Ariſtoteles, Zenon, Epicurus, aliiq́ philoſophi homi
