NIC. TRIGAVT. tuæ imponantur, ad eorum ima-
ginem, quantum induſtria fert ar-
tiſicis, accedentes, tum cenſus an-
nuus, & certi homines deputantur,
qui perpetuos odores, & ſemper
viventes lucernas accendant. Eam
ad rem ingentia ex æte campano
thuribula ſtatuuntur, ad eundem
ritum, quo ipſi ſua idola veneran-
tur. Sed hunc tamen cultum à Nu-
minis latria norunt ſeparare: nam
à Diis multa petunt, his urbanos
tantum ritus in beneficiorum me-
moriam periti exhibent. nihil ta-
men dubium, quin è vulgo plures
cultum utrumque permiſceant. Ad
hæc templa (quorum plenæ ſunt
omnes urbes, quæque ſæpe amico-
rum ſtudio indignis etiam erigun-
tur) certis temporibus itur, inclina-
tiones & genuflexiones exhiben-
tur, edulia offeruntur, aliaque hu-
juſmodi peraguntur.
