GNOMONICES vero minor est altitudo poli declinatione maxima Solis, cadit locus ſtyli inter tropicum, & æquinoctia-
lem lineam: Quando denique poli altitudo nulla eſt, vt in ſphæra recta, collocandus eſt ſtylus in ipſa li-
nea æquinoctiali. Quæ omnia aperte ex Analemmate, quod propoſ. 2. lib. 2. conſtruximus, colliguntur. Quia enim in eo altitudo poli A F, maior eſt maxima Solis declinatione, fit vt radius ♋, per centrum D,
emiſſus cadat in lineam meridianã R O, ad punctum K, vltra locum ſtyli G, ita vt punctum G, ſit inter
H, centrum horologii, & K, punctum ♋. Quare locus ſtyli extra tropicos omnino exiſtet. Quòd ſi altitu
do poli A F, æqualis eſſet maximę Solis declinationi, ita vt diameter paralleli ♋, ſecaret Meridianũ
in puncto A, non differret radius ♋, ex A, per centrum D, eiectus a diametro Verticalis; ac proinde
locus styli eſſet in puncto G, vbi radius ♋, meridianam lineã ſecaret. Si vero altitudo poli minor eſſet
maxima declinatione Solis, ita vt diameter paralleli ♋, Meridianum ſecaret inter A, verticem, & po
lum mundi E, liquido conſtat, radium ♋, per centrum D, tranſeuntem cadere tunc inter H, centrum ho
rologii, & G, locum ſtyli; adeo vt tunc locus ſtyli exiſteret inter tropicum ♋, & æquinoctialem lineam. Si denique altitudo poli nulla foret, ita vt diameter Aequatoris a diametro Verticalis non differret,
quis non videt, locum ſtyli tunc cadere in illud punctum lineæ meridianæ, in quo Aequator plano horo-
logij occurreret?
