Ut autem determinemus conſtitutionem ſuperficierum
corporum, à qua color pendet, debemus attendere ad mi-
nimas particulas, ex quibus hæ ſuperficies formantur; Par-
ticulæ hæ ſunt tranſlucidæ , & ſeparantur medio, denſitate differente cum ipſis particulis ; ſunt etiam tenues, aliter ſuperficies quaſi corpore tranſlucido obtegeretur , & color à particulis infra has pendêret. In omni ergo ſuperficie cor-
haſce laminas in ſuperficiebus corporum applicari poſſunt. Unde ſequentes deducimus concluſiones.

Pendet color corporis à craſſitie, & denſitate partium cor-
poris, quæ in ſuperficie interjacent meatus in corpore .

Eo magis vividus & magis homogeneus eſt color, quo par-
tes ſunt tenuiores .

Cæteris paribus, partes memoratæ craſſitiem omnium
maximam habent, ſi corpus fuerit rubrum, omnium minimam
ſi violaceum .

Partes corporum denſitate medium in interſtitiis multum
ſuperant .

Denſitas hæc minor eſt in caudis pavonum & in quibuſdam
pannis ſericis, & in genere in omnibus corporibus, quorum co-

perant colorem, niſi in quibuſdam occaſionibus, in quibus,
