M. VITRV VII metridrum. Nam non poteſt ædes ulla ſine ſymmetria at proportio-
nerationem babere compoſitionis, niſi uti ad hominis bene figurati mem
brorum habuerit exactam rationem. Corpus enim hominis ita natur a
compoſuit, uti os capitis à mento ad frontem ſummam, & radices imas
capilli, eſſet decimæ partis. Item manus palma ab articulo ad extremum
medium digitum, tantundem. Caput à mento ad ſummum uerticem, octa-
uæ. Tantundem ab ceruicibus imis. Ab ſummo pectore ad imas radices
capillorum, ſextæ: ad ſummum uerticem, quartæ. Ipſius autem oris altitu
dinis tertia pars est ab imo mento ad imas nares: naſus ab imis naribus
ad finem medium ſuperciliorum, tantundem: ab ea fine ad imas radices ca
pilli ubi frons efficitur, item tertiæ partis. Pes uero altitudinis corporis
ſextæ, Cubitus quartæ, Pectus item quartæ.
