IN LIB. DE COLORIBVS. dem & nigrum. Verùm dicas, quæ eminus videntur,
vt iam oſtenſum fuit, omnia videri nigra; ſed intelli-
gendum eſt videri nigra, hoc eſt obſcura, & vergen-
tia ad nigredinem, non quod ſemper ſint exquiſitè ni
gra, niſi penitus priuentur lumine. CONDENSATVS
AVTEM
.) Declarat alium colorem in aëre apparen-
tem, nempe albiſsimum, aër ſua quidem natura, vt di
ctum eſt, & claritate eſt albus: ſed cum denſatur, mul
tò maximè albicat, quoties tantæ fit denſitatis, quan
tæ eſt aqua. Poteſt, & fortaſſe non citra rationem in-
telligi, aërem ita fieri album cum denſatur, quemad-
modum aqua fit alba, cum denſatur & coit in glaciẽ. Denſitas autem rei lucentis, facit vt res magis luceat
iccirco ſtellæ lucidiſsimę apparent, cùm ſint partes or
bis denſiores. Sed in elementis denſitas albicantem
efficit luciditatem. Præterea alba denſata reddi albio
ra, deprehenditur vel ex ouis, quæ vbi excocta ſunt,
multo fiunt candidiora. Verùm quòd dictum eſt de
aëris denſitate, id verum eſſe intelligas, ſi non admi-
ſcetur humor vel corpus extraneum: et ſi ſerenus eſt,
aut quoad eius fieri poteſt maximè purus.
