25. DE LAT ITVD INE TERRÆ,
LOCORV MVE.
CAP. VIII.

LAtitudo regionis vel habitationis, eſt ſegmentum
eiuſdem meridiani, vertice, ſeu polo horizontis,
atque æquatoris circulo diffinitum: & eſt ſemper
æqualis altitudini ſeu eleuationi poli ſupra hori-
zonta: quadam tamen ratione inter ſe differunt. Nam eleuatio ſiue altitudo poli, eſt arcus meridi-
ani inter polum mundi & horizontẽ interceptus. Latitudo verò loci, eſt arcus meridiani inter ze-
nith capitum, & æquatorrs circulum contentus. Hæ autem duæ por
tiones meridiani (vt auctor ſpliæræ demonſtrat) ſunt æquales. Nu-
merus igitur latitudinis terræ tam Septentrionalis quàm Meridio-
nalis, in ſolido plano´que, de. 10 in. 10. (vt aſſolet) ſcribitur: ſimi-
liter & longitudinis.
