bili muro cannarum contra ſæuißimum animal ericij exemplo receptat{us}, ineludit,
qui ſubitò in terg{us} ſuum refugiẽs, intra ſe collect{us} abſconditur, & cum nuſquam
diſceſſerit, ei{us} corpuſculum non videtur. Nam ſicutille, veniente contrario reuolu-
t{us} in ſphæram, naturalib{us} defenſatur aculeis: ſic iste conſutili crate præcinct{us},
munitior redditur fragilitate cannarum. Alij trib{us}, vt ita dixerim, diſpoſitis oſtio-
lis, paratam in ſe rabiem prouocare præſumunt, in patenti area cancelloſis ſe postib{us}
occludentes, modò facies, modò terga monſtrantes, vt mirum ſit euadere, quos ita re-
ſpicis per leonum vngues dentes\’ volitare. Alter labenti rota feris offertur, eadem
alter erigitur, vt periculis auferatur. Hacten{us} Aureli{us} Caßiodor{us} amphithea-
trales ludos explicuit Refert Plini{us} lib. XXXIIII . cap. XII . nouo inuento vr-
ſorum in harena & leonum ora aſpergi ſolita chalcantho, tantam eſſe ei vim in
astringendo, vt non quirent mordere.
