Suſpendatur Globus ex argillâ molli ita, ut reſpondeat me-
dio Machinæ n. 491. tranſmiſſo filo per foramen medium f
(Tab. 18. fig. 2.) ad latera hujus duo ſuſpendantur cylin-
dri D & F, (Tab. 18. fig. 4.) adhibitis uncis YY, loco
uncorum V, V, (fig. 2.) Quieſcente globo, in hunc di-
mittantur, eodem momento, cylindri, major ve-
locitate quinque, & alter velocitate decem, quæ
velocitates ſunt inversè ut maſſæ, in qua ratione et-
iam ſunt vires ; poſt ictum tria corpora quieſcunt & ca- vitates ab utraque parte ſunt æquales. Inæquales eſſe ca-
vitates ſi corpora hæc ipſa eodem modo mota impingant in
obicem fixum ſuperius vidimus .

plicando maſſam quatuor per quadratum velocitatis viginti
quinque , & eſt 100; eodem modo vis alîus cylindri de- tegitur 200. , & ſumma virium 300; vis hæc ictu perit, & cum cavitates ſint æquales in utraque formanda conſu-
mitur vis 150. quod experimento ſequenti confirma-
tur.

Iiſdem poſitis quæ in experimento primo, tollatur cy-
lindrus major & in ipſius locum ſuſpendatur cylindrus minori
ſimilis & æqualis. Si globus paululum convertatur & in
hunc cylindri ambo dimittantur velocitate 8 {2/3}, poſt ictum
corpora quieſcunt, & cavitates erunt æquales inter ſe, & illis quæ in primo experimento formatæ ſunt. Cum vires
ſint æquales & cavitates æquales, corpus utrumque ſuam
format cavitatem, vis autem quæ conſumitur habetur multi-
plicando maſſam duo per quadratum velocitatis 75 {1/9}, & eſt
150 {2/9}.
