Apertis templi valvis ſonus tubæ hoc modo efficitur.

Sit poſt valvas vas A B C D aquam habens, in quo ſit ſuffocarium,
hoc eſt vas ſyſtomum inverſum F, quippe@cujus os ſenſim contrahitur: ejus
fundo perforato aptetur tuba habens & codona, & lingulam : canali
autem tubæ apponatur regula L M, coagmentata ſuffocatorio, cana-
lique tubæ alligata: & in extremitate ejus habens columation Z, hoc
eſt chelonarion, cuiſubjiciatur regula N X, ſuſtinens ſuffocatorium F,
tantum ab aqua diſtans, quantum ſatis ſit: & regula N X circa fibulam
O moveatur: in extremitate autem regulæ X catena, vel funis alligata
referatur per orbiculum P ad partem valvarum poſteriorem: continget
igitur valvis apertis extentum funem trahere extremitatem regulæ Y: ita
ut regula N X non amplius colymatio Z ſubjiciatur: hoc autem per-
mutato ſuffocatorium in aquam delatum tubæ ſonum efficiet, propter-
ea quod aër, qui eſt in ipſo per lingulam, & codona extruditur.
